Q: I am an undergraduate student; may I have my Spring ‘10 textbook order shipped to my home?
A: Unfortunately we are unable to ship out any undergraduate orders due to the large number of orders and limited staffing during this rush period. All undergraduate orders will be available for pick up on campus starting Saturday, January 30 at the Biola Fitness Center.

Q: I am an undergraduate student; can I purchase my books online using financial aid?
A: At this time we are unable process online orders using financial aid. Undergraduate students wishing to purchase their textbooks using their financial aid must purchase them in the bookstore. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be available to help you find your books. The textbook room will open on Friday, January 29 at 12:00 noon.
To purchase books in the bookstore using your financial aid you must first obtain a book slip from the accounting department located in the Metzger building. After selecting you books from the textbook room, bring them to the customer service desk for processing.
We understand you may prefer to pre-order your textbooks online to increase your chances of obtaining used books. To do this, you may pay for your online textbook order using a personal credit card. Once all of your financial aid has cleared you may request a refund for the amount of your books from the accounting department.

Q: What is the best way to use my parents’ credit card to purchase textbooks?
A: The best way is to place an online order through our website.
Textbooks and merchandise may not be purchased in-store using your parents’ credit card. Please make other arrangements before coming into the store.
One suggestion is to deposit extra money into your Biola account. The money can be withdrawn at the cashier’s window or used through a book slip.
We can also accept pre-signed checks made out to the Biola Bookstore. The amount can be filled in at the register.
Your parent may also purchase a gift card by calling the Biola Bookstore at 562-903-4883, x3. We will ask the student for photo ID when they come in to claim the gift card.

Q: My classes start before February 1, 2010. I need my books sooner to complete the required early assignments. Your website says that the Spring ’10 textbooks will not be available for purchase until Friday, January 29. How do I get my books in time to complete my assignments?
A: Unless your professor or department made special arrangements with us, your textbooks will not be available until January 29. If you feel that you need your textbooks early to complete assignments, please contact your department to see if special arrangements were made.
---------------
Q: How do I know if I will be getting used or new textbooks?
A: There is a limited supply of used textbooks and the supply varies for each class. The orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, therefore we cannot guarantee you will receive all the used books requested.
If you select the “Used Preferred” option, we will fill your request with a used book as long as they are available. When used textbooks are no longer available, we will fill your order with a new textbook. This is the best option to select to ensure you will have a textbook in time for class.
If you select the “Used Only” option, you will receive a used book if available. If they are no longer available, your order for that particular book will not be filled with any book and you will not be charged for that title.
---------------
Q: Is my credit/debit card being charged immediately after I place my order?
A: The website makes an inquiry to your institution of your credit/debit card to verify the funds are available. You may see an inquiry on your statement at the time you place your order. However, your card will not actually be charged until the week of January 25-29 when we are processing the web orders. You will receive a receipt when you receive your textbooks.
---------------
Q: I just printed my order confirmation. It says “Receipt” at the top of the page. Why is my total charge higher than the preferences I selected?
A: The paper that you printed is a summary of your order and the confirmation that your order has been received by our system. You have not been charged for the books at this time. The estimated charges are based on the highest amount possible. If you selected used books, or if a book is unavailable your total charges will, of course, be lower. Please plan your finances based on the higher receipt estimate.
---------------
Q: What is the return policy?
A: The last day you will be able to receive a refund on Spring ’10 textbooks is February 12, 2010.
There are no refunds without a receipt.
Refund credit will be issued back to the original credit/debit card used to make the purchase.
New textbooks must be in original condition, clean, free of all marks and erasure. Bookstore management reserves the right to pass judgment on the condition of returned books.
Packaged textbooks and CDs are not returnable if so indicated on the wrapper. Coursepacks are non-returnable unless in they are in new condition (no writing).

Q: I am a grad student. How can I apply my grad discount to my online order?
A: We will apply your discount when we process your order. We are applying the discount to all books listed in the grad courses. The discount will be reflected on your final receipt included with your books.
---------------
Q: I received a 5% off coupon during buyback. How can I use it on my online order?
A: Unfortunately, we are unable to process those coupons online. You may bring the coupon to the customer service desk along with either your web order receipt or the book purchased online you wish it applied to. We will refund the 5% to the credit/debit card it was purchased on.
