Why shop here?

As a student, we realize the importance of obtaining the right textbooks and coursepacks at the right time. We also believe that the Biola University Bookstore provides the following benefits:

  1. A knowledgeable staff who is familiar with the campus, knows your faculty, and has worked in cooperation with them to acquire the appropriate materials.
  2. A staff willing to go beyond normal customer service duties in assisting students and parents in the transition to college life.
  3. Student-friendly return policies in case a student drops a class or has a schedule change, with no need to pay for shipping these returned books across the country.
  4. Systems in place to accept campus-specific payment methods such as scholarship funds and financial aid. The ability to take credit card payments, and personal checks from local banks.
  5. Making used books available is the single most significant way that college bookstores are reducing the cost of textbooks for students. According to estimates from the National Association of College Stores, college bookstores have saved students more than $2 billion over the past ten years by making used books available. Buying used books may save college students even more than buying new textbooks from any other source.
  6. Buyback services enable students to get extra money at the end of the term for books they no longer need or want. Our goal is to give you 67% of your money back during our biannual Buyback events.
  7. Proceeds from the Bookstore help fund various student services that directly benefit students like the fitness center, security cameras and the new security gate.
In addition to price, you should consider a number of service factors before making your final textbook purchases.
  • Is the book being sold online the same edition that is being used in class? It is possible the textbook under consideration available online is an old edition. There is no evidence that there is any attempt to deceive, but having the appropriate edition of the textbook is much more important than a general reading book.
  • Will the book be available in time to be useful in class? Often online booksellers will ship the book anywhere from three to six weeks from the date of the order. Again, this timing would almost always be unacceptable to students at the start of classes.
  • Please keep in mind that prices do change. It may take awhile before our site is updated with accurate prices. We ask that you extend us grace when you find out that the price of a product is different than its actual price. We will try our best to maintain our site with the most current information. However in the event you discover prices are different between our site and our "brick and mortar" store, we will honor that latter. As a customer, we ask that you all us at 562-903-4883 if you have any questions about price.
